I want to avoid making this post about Oyin Blogs, but I just have to! So today I made my very first (sane looking) Logo for my blog. If you visit my blog daily, you might have noticed that I have been fiddling with a lot of things on my blog, fixing themes here and there. All that is part of my personal journey into making what I do much more personal. I must add here that I have had no prior training in the use of Photoshop, and this is my first time actually working on making my own Logo. Anyway, my point is, you can do so much for your small business by yourself if you create the time! So today’s post is going to focus on the importance of having a Logo and how this affects your small business’s identity across platforms.
Logos are very important for any business; I know this is stating the obvious, but logos make your brand more visible and identifiable by your customers. The biggest brands in the world all have logos that help people identify them wherever they might be. Do not assume that your business is still very small, and so , it does not necessarily need a logo. In fact, one of the first things you must consider when setting up your business online is to get an official logo. Once you have one, you should ensure that your logo is your display photo on all your social media accounts. This helps people identify with your brand online.
To make your logo appealing and memorable to your customers, keep it simple. Avoid making use of outlandish words or images that do not really tell the story of your brand. Preferably, make use of texts and smart images that best describe what your business stands for. It is really left to you or your graphic artist to decide what really defines your business as a logo.
I am sorry this post is quite short, but the important thing I want all small business owners who might read this blog to realize is the importance of having a logo as soon as possible. Also, don’t forget to announce to others like I just did. 😀
My next post will focus on interaction on social media through hashtags. If you have any topics you will like me to touch on here on my blog, you can drop a comment or send me a mail on email@example.com .
Till next time, it’s Social Girl! xo
