SheLeadsAfrica and Facebook have teamed up to launch #SheMeansBusiness, a platform for African women to connect with other women and grow their businesses online. The collaboration is almost similar to the one between Google and Women Techmakers, (read about this here) and it is indeed quite exciting to see more tech giants doing more for women.
#SheMeansBusiness is designed to bring women in all aspects of industry together through a combination of offline networking and online community, providing women with inspiration and resources to help them build sustainable businesses in an ever changing world.
In collaboration with Facebook, SheLeadsAfrica, the foremost platform for African women looking to build businesses, will be offering Digital Marketing training to young Nigerian women across 6 states in the country. There will be training events in Aba, Abuja, Ibadan, Kaduna, Lagos and Portharcourt, and this might just be what you need to advance your career as a woman in business.
On the #SheMeansBusiness platform, young women who are interested in expanding their knowledge base can also learn basic digital marketing skills online, using Facebook Blueprint and other valuable resources. You also get to read up on the stories of other women who have grown successful business ventures for inspiration.

Young women can draw inspiration from other successful women online
Here’s what to expect from SheLeadsAfrica in #SheMeansBusiness:
In-person trainings: SheLeadsAfrica will be offering 4,000+ young, ambitious Nigerian women the opportunity to attend an in-person training workshop facilitated by SLA and Facebook trainers. Trainings will teach attendees how to utilize digital resources that will help take their business online and compete in a global marketplace, and will be followed up with a 4-week email course providing information on further resources (including Facebook’s Blueprint e-learning course).
Office hours: They’ll be offering 1 Office Hour session per city where 3-5 trainers will be present to answer any digital marketing-related questions attendees may have. There will also be opportunities to form mentorship groups with peers.
While the event is completely FREE to all to attend, SheLeadsAfrica will NOT be covering the cost of transportation to the events, so take advantage of this opportunity to grow your business via online collaborations and learning.
