Hi guys! I am sorry I have not posted anything in a while, I have been quite busy with work and it has been a bit hectic. Anyway, in today’s post (which is going to be quite short), I will focus on pushing out the right content and how to ensure that you are doing it the right way. As a small business owner who is trying to cut costs by running your social media platforms on your own, it might get quite confusing along the line. Here’s all you need to know about pushing your content correctly to get the best results in the long run.
Like I have said once or twice in previous posts, you should not go into promoting your business on social media expecting immediate results. Like every other business offline, pushing your business online takes a lot of dedication and patience. Your audience will have to get to see your content enough times to make them feel safe about taking positive actions on your posts. So here’s a question you need to consider; what kind of content are you trying to push? It is important to identify your niche on social media platforms. This will help you decide what kind of audience to go for on social media.
You can then make use of analytic features on social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter and Instagram to filter your audience. You can study their demographics and interests and then decide which audience to focus on. Once you identify your key audience, you can then focus on making kick ass visuals to attract them to your business. Remember, you are only one in an increasing number of small business owners online, push content that will make you stand out.
Your appearance on social media platforms is also very important. For Facebook and Twitter, avoid using grainy photos (low quality pictures) as your profile picture or on a post. Get yourself a smartphone with a good camera (if you are starting really small, try the Samsung Galaxy A5, it takes good photos and you can edit them to suit your taste), so that you can take awesome pictures of your products on the go. Depending on your type of business, photos are very important, and are essential to pushing your brand online. Make good use of photo sharing platforms like Instagram and Pinterest to be able to appeal to people and get more followers interested in your services.
When posting your content, it is important to use the necessary tags so that your posts will reach those who have interests that align to the services you provide. So for instance, if you are trying to sell a new pair of shoes, you could put up your creative text with the tag “#Shoes” to be able to reach as many people. These tags work on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest and are quite effective in getting more people to see the services you offer. Avoid being all up in your audience’s faces ALWAYS trying to promote your brand. Make them feel comfortable with witty and informative content from time to time, so that they know your brand is not just about the sales.
Finally, always watch out for what others in your field are doing. No one has all the ideas to make things work; avoid copying though, but try to ensure that you stay up to date with what is trending and what is outdated. Always seek out new ways to package your content so that your audience do not get bored.
